Aluminum conductor 15 KV MV cable is designed for installation in the open air, in ducts, conduits, and cable bridges (1/0 and larger). It can be buried directly in wet or dry locations. In addition, the cable is both heat and moisture resistant and has a natural high dielectric strength EPR insulation and a semiconductor thermoset insulation shield by ICEA S-97-682. The cable meets all requirements specified by the National Electrical Code.
Specifications
Aluminum conductor 15 KV MV power cable is made of flexible, bare 1350 series aluminum and contains stranded Class B power wire as defined by ASTM. The cable's metal shield consists of a spiral of non-magnetic 5 mil copper tape with a minimum 25% overlap.
The aluminum conductor 15 KV MV cable has been determined to meet all the following industry standards.
IEEE 383 Flame Test (1/0 and larger)
IEEE 1202 Flame Test (250 MCM and larger)
UL 1072 Type MV-105, Sunlight Resistant
CT Use (1/0 and larger)
AEIC CS8
The aluminum conductor 15 KV medium voltage cable is 350 AWG in size. the cable has an insulation thickness of 0.220 in. and an insulation diameter thickness of 1.11 in. The cable has an insulation shield diameter of 1.16 inches and an overall diameter of 1.33 inches. The length of the cable is 1 foot and up, and the weight of the cable is approximately 992 pounds for 1000 feet.
Applications
The aluminum conductor 15 KV medium voltage power cable is designed for use in power circuits rated up to 15,000 volts. The cable is UL listed for use in continuous operation up to 105°C, emergency overloads up to 140°C, and short circuits up to 250°C.
